Hiring an instrument
We have numerous musical instruments available for loan to parents. These loans are on the proviso that your child only receives instrumental lessons through the Music Hub. Please be aware that you will be responsible for the maintenance and insurance of the instrument and it should be returned in good condition when requested. Most household contents insurance policies will cover ‘items outside of the residence’ and instruments are covered under this part of the policy.
If you are unsure of what size instrument your child needs please contact us. Simply call the music hub office on 01454 863147 to make an appointment and we will ensure your child leaves with the correct size instrument, ready for their first lesson. All our instruments come with everything required to get started straight away.
The cost to hire any of our loan instruments is £27 per term (Autumn, Spring or Summer). Below is a list of the instruments you can hire directly from us. Guitars, keyboards and drum kits can be bought through an ‘Assisted Purchase Scheme’ via your child’s school which gives you savings of almost 20%.

Assisted Instrument Purchase Scheme (AIPS)
The Assisted Instrument Purchase Scheme (AIPS) enables pupils of local authority and academy schools to purchase musical instruments through their school without VAT providing the sale to the pupil meets certain criteria.
South Gloucestershire Music Hub is happy to help you with purchases where possible. You are advised to consult with your child’s instrumental teacher before identifying the instrument and making a purchase.
