Little Stoke Development Centre

The Little Stoke Development Centre is one of two development centres which meet on Saturday mornings and provide the ideal way to begin ensemble music making with other players of a similar age and standard.

Location: Little Stoke Primary School, Little Stoke Primary School, Little Stoke Lane, Little Stoke, BS34 6HY
Time: All groups rehearse from 9.30am-12 except for Open Strings, First Blow and Seniors Guitars which rehearse from 9.30-10.40am (followed by tuckshop!). Junior Guitars and Ukuleles rehearse 11 to 12.

How to join: Joining a music centre is easy!  Phone ( 01454 863147) or e mail (musicservice@southglos.gov.uk) to let us know that your child is interested in attending. We will tell the Head of Centre to expect you. We are convinced that your child will enjoy the experience but if they do not then you do not have to pay anything! If your child wishes to continue then the fee for ten weeks will be payable. Please bring the registration form with you for the first session so that we have all emergency contact details.
Cost: Cost : £62 per double term

£31 Open Strings, First Blow and Ukuleles and Guitars

No charge will be made if you are in receipt of income support, free schools meals or maximum tax credit. Evidence of exemption will be required. All centres meet for 30 rehearsals in the school year. Charges are made three times a year. Sibling reductions apply.

The Artistry in Strings Programme

Open Strings
For beginner strings who have been learning for a term.

Crossing Strings
Once players begin to work towards Grade 1 as they progress to a slightly more advanced group.

The Bridge String Orchestra
Members of this orchestra have an ability range of Grade 3-4 standard.

Guitars
An opportunity for guitarists to play in an ensemble, plus a ukelele group.

The Artistry in Winds and Percussion Programme

First Blow
For beginner players who have been learning for a term

Second Wind
Once players begin to work towards Grade 1 they progress to a slightly more advanced group

Western Winds
Members of this ensemble have an ability range of Grade 3-4 standard
