This is the start of an amazing journey – a fun and exciting way to learn and make new friends. We firmly believe that by providing children a strong foundation in music they will go on to progress faster and further, not only in their musical studies, but in all other aspects of their school life.

We can provide your child with lessons on a range of instruments and we cover all the orchestral instruments, whilst our percussion and guitar teachers work in all styles including rock, pop, classical and jazz. Alternatively, our singing teachers can coach in a range of popular singing styles, as well as classical vocal traditions.

Evidence has shown that not only is learning to play a musical instrument great fun, but can also lead to:

  • Improved reading, vocabulary and language development
  • Improved aural and visual memory
  • More positive attitudes towards school and better attendance
  • Increased self-confidence and aspirations
  • Enhanced teamwork and collaborative skills
  • Improved emotional and physical wellbeing

We’re delighted to be offering exciting, fun classes to budding new musicians at our Warmley Music Centre in Sir Bernard Lovell Academy on a Saturday morning.  Children will get the chance to learn new skills, play in a group led by a professional musician and perform to audiences.

As they progress, children will be able to join one of our larger ensembles and will be supported in booking small group or individual lessons so they can continue their musical journey.

  • Cost: £34.50 per double term.
  • If needed, instruments can be hired from South Gloucestershire Music Hub, subject to availability, at a cost of £27 per double term.

Click here to apply or email musicservice@southglos.gov.uk for more information.

Places are limited and will be offered on a first come, first served basis.  Once a class is full, a waiting list will be set up ready for the next class to start.

Sessions run each Saturday, term time only.

We look forward to seeing you there!
